I think the disdain for women comes from the disdain for the women in power who are consistently fucking things up. A trad wife who respects tradition and the traditional dynamic are, however, very much respected.

No one should be given respect outright. Respect is something one earns rather than having it heaped upon them for simply existing, even in a trad wife capacity. The best I will give someone outright is the opportunity to earn my respect or the respect of those whom they are affected by. Nothing more to them until they demonstrate their worth.
Imagine the disdain we have for men who are constantly fucking things up.
It would be nice if we could foster some respect for trad wives around here.
