I was thinking about upgrading my phone because its crappy and old and blah blah. But a lot of the newer phones don't have storage on board. My thought would be to buy a USB-c external microSD card and reader for a new phone. Yay or nay on this being a good idea. I'm not always around fast enough data to upload to the cloud efficiently.

If you are just planning on doing archives via usb-c ssd or other media fixed usb hub storage, then it will work.

You will most likely break the connector if you leave it in there or lose the usb it if you don't.

No I would just move over photos/video and whatnot as I filled up the memory.
