In my life, 40 years, I've known 2. One I dated for 7 years and the other I was in high school with. Back then we didn't think in terms like we do today, she wasn't "based", as it were. However, she was like a detective. Had that mindset. I've not seen her in years. So, 2 out of who knows how many. This doesn't mean that the majority CAN'T see through all the machinations, just that once they start down the wrong road, it's hard get back on track.
