I went down this road years ago as I was dating a very serious and devoted Catholic. To such adherents, marriage is a sacrament and you'll have to convert or at least promise the priest you'll raise children in the Catholic faith. The Catholic won't marry in a Protestant church nor with a Protestant pastor.
(Not implying any of that is good or bad, but I struggled with the implications having been raised Lutheran)
I do have Catholic family, so going to things over there I always found fascinating
What Catholicism expects of its adherents is very different to Lutheranism, even though Lutheranism is closest to Catholicism in ritual, sacraments, etc.
I'm non denominational. Have checked out Lutheran churches, but it's a shame how liberal some have went.
