fire flies.
A pleasure.
Reminder of summer evenings as a care free child
Shor’nuff, my favorite memory bein’ mom or grandma given’ us boys mason jars after shuck’n peas and corn on the porch to collect ‘em in and come morning when the morning glories were about to close up she’d pour some into a bulb and tie them off with yarn. Come evening we had us some lil’ flickering lanterns.
In the 1600s they were called 'glowworms.' (See there, spell check didn't even correct me.)
Fire flies.
Lightning bugs. Used to crush them and put their phosphorescent green schmoo on my shoes at night. I have more sympathy for the bugs now that I am an adult
Fed flies.
Lightening bugs. My weird ass western PA cousins would pull the light off the bug and stick it to their bodies as jewelry.
I just know they were fun swinging bats at as a kid
Both.
Yes.
