Chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven.
oh dang those sound interesting, does it have an herb/earthy taste? i dont think i have a bag of matcha, but i vaguely remember someone talking about it once.
White chocolate macademia. Made with REAL white chocolate (with cocoa butter), NOT with white chips made of partially hydrogenated whoknowswhatsit.
yeah theres a huge difference! especially in price unfortunately.
one of my favorite cookies if you add craisins! sadly theyre so expensive to make! ill gladly eat them without craisins too
Peanut Butter! If it's a cookie, I love it though.
Oh hell yeah!
nice! we have some peanut butter in the house, wonder if the guys in the house would like a batch of those
I promise they would. Can't go wrong unless you burn em. Remember if they look done, they're burning.
thats one thing i learned after growing up a little. i used to think cookies needed to cook longer than the recipe asked because they still looked wet but i was very wrong. the recipe knows best. when i was like 10 making cookies i wondered how the recipe could be so wrong not having milk in them. clearly milk and cookies go together, lol, so many ruined batches
Also, happy fathers day to all the fathers!
My favorite is shortbread cookies from Scotland.
I like choc chip with pecans and plain chocolate cookies with walnuts.
I had some peanut butter ones recently that were delicious (and I used to not care for them).
What will you be making?
oooh! are shortbread cookies from Scottland, or does Scottland have their own take on shortbread cookies? i made a batch of those a while back, the guys loved it.
i think ill make simple chocolate chip cookies. just the recipe on the back of the choc. chips. often ill make a double or triple batch and roll the extra dough into a log and freeze it for later.
I think that Scotland is just famous for them. I would have loved to eat those that you made (I only get store-bought).
So much butter in shortbread cookies is why I love them lol. I like pound cake with tons of butter.
I heat up the slices and put even more butter on them (crazy).
Ah, yes, my wife uses the (Hershey) recipe there on the package, can't be beat (no pun).
My mom used to add extra flour, I like that, I don't like 'em flooded with choc chips.
haha, i'm a huge fan of butter sadly, its so good. i knew a guy who would butter his damn poptarts and that took the cake, never heard of adding butter to such things.
pound cake is too heavy for me.
i agree with the too many choc chips thing, i usually put about a half of what they ask for, and if the recipe really wants that many more chunks in there i prefer to add nuts or craisins.
Oatmeal raisin
The most underrated cookie.
Too many people go with chocolate chip, because a mediocre chocolate chip isn't that far off a good one.
In comparison a mediocre oatmeal raisin can be a letdown, but a peak oatmeal raisin can't be touched.
Oatmeal raisin probably have the highest cieling and the lowest floor. But I'll take peak OR over everything.
I've developed a hatred of that cookie because lots of times it looks like a chocolate chip walnut cookie amongst a variety plate and only when bitten does it disclose its secret identity as a frickin raisin cookie.
That sums up my experience as well. Chocolate chip cookies that look like oatmeal raisin.
i actually love these, wish more people did!
Snickerdoodles
Anything that doesn't have raisins.
I made shortbread cookies the other night and dipped them in some lemon posset I made along with. Yummmm
i love lemon anythings, that sounds divine!
I went a little heavy on the lemon juice by mistake, but it was great on the shortbread! Wet and tart with dry and mellow!
doesnt sound half bad, i'd eat that no problem. We have a keylime tree in our yard and i cant wait for it to bless us for the season which should be in a couple months. keylime everything! i like to use it to make buttermilk. that might not be as good as lemon for sugar cookies when i made it but it was really good. wait, whats the difference between sugar cookies and short bread?
Vanillachip strawberry cookie!
hot damn that sounds delicious! strawberries are my favorite fruit, ill have to find a recipe
Nice! Yeah i just made it up on the spot. Since i thought it sounded delicious! I wonder how to add the strawberry without it being nasty... Maybe you would have to use dried strawberries.. :) i love making food. Tell me if it works, ill try it myself!
I like all kinds of Christmas cookies, especially pizzelles.
oh damn, pizzelle, is that like a waffle cone with licorice? i think ive had them a couple times, and theyre very good. then again, i could just eat waffle cones and have wondered how one might make their own at home
