Ive been an mc at 3 weddings now and am consistently congratulated afterwards on how well i did. The one critical piece of advice i can offer is this: practice your speech out loud first. Ive seen people give talks where, when they give their speech, it's the first time theyre ever saying it out loud. Writing it down is not enough. Youve got to say it out loud in the exact same manner as youre going to say it in public. Practice in front of the mirror. Practice in front of your mom. But make sure you practice, practice, practice! Then on the day of the speech, though you will still feel nervous (everyone does) the nerves will disappear once you start talking. And because youve practiced, youll be a LOT more confident. Good luck!
