Depends what the end goal was. If it was taking over all of Europe, there really was no plausible scenario where that would have worked. Maybe over decades of slowly germanizing neighboring countries and dominating economically. Maybe. If the goal was just to become a world power and hold onto it for generations, they should have just stopped early and used diplomacy to solidify gains.
