Bump the date or add a 2 year, now out of business, personal consulting company.
I've thought about just saying I was let go 2 months ago. Then letting them figure out if it's really a big deal after they gave a rigorous interview set of stages. It's not like I'm lieing about ever being there or anything else, just how long, and 10 years over 8 is rather insignificant.
In the worst case I get some interview experience and learn it actually was an issue, and they also get a punishment for making a big enough deal out of it to not hire after already being ecstatic about hiring and going through the interview processes. Best case they don't even check or end up not caring.
