What is the best way to train a local population of coyotes to stay away from your property? Bait and kill? My dogs are not the kind that will keep them away. They are the kind that will think “he guys, you seem cool. You like fetch too?” And then get eaten.

You sound like a city dweller to think that pets should be inside or in an enclosure at all.

You sound like a crybaby. "Sniff. It's not fair that my dog can't stay outside. No fair!”

It's not a question of should, it's a question of what will work and is practical. Exterminating coyotes is unlikely to succeed. Keeping your dog in the house at night is guaranteed to work.

You don’t understand, city man. Pets have a purpose; they aren’t there to simply cuddle. Barn cat is there to catch mice, yard dog is there to keep the deer away from the fruit trees, to alert us if there’s copper heads around the house, and to protect against meth heads trying to steal diesel out of the tractor or the ammonia. They can’t do their jobs if they are in the house or in a cage.

You sure are quick to cast stones when you don’t understand something.
