I'm not certain what you mean by "personal power".

If you mean personal power in the Carlos Castaneda/Don Juan tradition, then the short answer is to become a "warrior" - which is defined in those books.

If you mean personal power as meaning the ability to sway other people to your point of view, then I would study propaganda and sales.

If you are interested in increasing your sense of well-being, then I would look into some of Tony Robbins' stuff, breathing techniques, and various life philosophies (such as discussed in "The Way of Adventure" and other similar books.

If you mean personal power as in the ability to magically manipulate the physical environment in "impossible" ways, then you might want to look around the fringes of Taoism, Vajrayana, Bon, esoteric Hinduism and maybe Alchemy (but please don't descend into sorcery, Satanism, or demon worship).

Or maybe you mean something entirely different.

Castaneda was a fraud I think , yet his writing was spot on. Something like what he wrote about is what I'm after I suppose
