I do not follow mainstream media at all so there may be some great music that I dont know of. But everything that I think of as great music is at lest five years old if not much older than that

Greta van fleet. The singer is the closest thing to Robert plant since Robert plant.

Listen to hingway tune. If someone told me that that was led zeppelin I would almost believe them

Greta Van Fleet are a breath of fresh air, just discovered them like a month ago.

Trip the Light Fantastic was excellent as well

Age of man, and black smoke rises are great too. Also their cover of "a change is gonna come" is just impressive

Biggest copycat waste of space since wolfmother.

There are some old bands and artists still putting out some good music that came out in the last 5 years.

Blood eagle wings by anthrax.

Most brutal music video ever. They consulted Brendan small, the guy who does metalocolypse for the vid.

The kid from independence day has his lungs ripped through his back.

I listened to some old Anthrax and didn't like it. That doesn't sound good.

Probably not a popular opinion but I preferred Anthrax with John Bush.

Darius Rucker still puts out pretty good stuff. Bad Wolves does also, their remake of Zombie is amazing. otherwise, nah I can't either.

but arent most of his hit songs lately cover songs?

[–] 1 pt

A few but not all. And let's be honest: in a lot of cases his covers are better than the original.

Tyler Childers, Steel Drivers, and the guy from Yellowstone.

Nobody should remake Zombie. Everyone that covers it fucks it up. Even if they are a good band/singer. No one will ever sing that song with the same feeling and affection as Niall Quinn.

I am rather partial to Mongolian tribal metal....

i want to correct you and tell you that theres good modern music yet can't easily recall anything from the past 5 years that stands out.

spotify turns me on to stuff ive (along with anyone else) has never heard of. some of that is recent.

theres a site called vtuner.com where you can stream internet radio through your browser. the german blues station is pretty neat.

I enjoy rock and roll and hard rock music, I am not really into electronic music though I do make some on fruity loops sometimes

I really only listen to 80s hits anymore. Occasionally I'll find myself in the mood to listen to synthwave artists like Gunship.

Most of the modern rock music I ever hear played in passing is stuff from the 90s and 00s.

I heard Megadeth has a new album that rips. It was recommended to me, I have not heard it yet.
