It's all real. It's just not the same as it is presented in literature and in movies. When the supernatural is dramatized, it is externalized. You get Harry Potter shooting lightning bolts from the end of his magic wand. That's externalization. The reality is below the surface. It's very much real but it is usually not overtly physical. However, it is just as powerful -- more powerful, really -- than the showy, silly displays of the occult in the movies. Ghosts are real. Poltergeists are real. Demons are real. Definitely. All these phenomena have been well documented. It creeps out the average person to suspect that they really exist, so they reject them in order to laugh at them and make themselves feel safer and less afraid.
