If I am buying silver coins for the ounce of silver, why would I buy coins from the US mint at $70/oz versus an online seller like golden state mint for $26/oz? Is there some pedigree these might have when SHTF?

They claim .999% pure for $26.75 check or wire. Seems like a reasonable price compared to the other silver options.

Silver is silver when the SHTF. .999% is better than sterling .925%

you might be able to get silver blanks or bars a little cheaper per oz, us mint silver looks to be over $33/oz on this site.

Bags of old silver used to be cheaper, and could be easier to use in exchange after the SHTF because dimes and quarters will be smaller than 1 oz rounds/coins. My 2 cents.

"Silver is silver" has been my thoughts as well, until recently GSM has been my go-to for monthly purchases, but comments were made that it's authenticity could be doubted without the USD stamp.

Test kits are cheap, many choices on Amazon.
