I don't do manual work -- except around the house, and I have a single pair of work gloves for when I need them -- but I do have an unhealthy obsession with motorcycle gloves. I have at least 10 pairs and I'm lucky to get through a season and only buy one new pair. Of course I have a favorite and depending on the weather will always prefer them over the others. Riding season is relatively short and the wear on a pair of glove is minimal so unless I've had a crash they don't wear out, so they will continue to accumulate.
I also have 3 helmets, but that's just common sense.
