or when the recruiter/headhunter contacts you but begins with the incorrect name. I always respond with 'that's not me, so no thanks anyways' or when the sub or staffing uses an old JD and interviewing with the prime the real reqs come out and you're sitting there with your jaw open when you hear TDY is at least 25%/year and the pay is at or below what you're already making even though the recruiter has you believe otherwise.
I got hit up a few months ago out-of-the-blue; legitimate JD and company, but asking me if I was interested in breaking into IT with an entry level datacenter type service-desk role. I admit, it made me smile.
the biggest shite I get now from recruiters asking me if I am in the market and wanting to relo to here or there, and I'm like - read my fucking profile - I am willing for relo to X, Y, or, Z only, not where you're asking me about. Why would there be an option to put relo specs if you're not going to bother to read them.
drafting a JD and JTA isn't that fucking hard, man. it's half on the recruiter, the other half is on HR and the hiring manager.
My name is a common name for the time, but is spelled slightly different and has several almost sound-alikes. I get all kinds of names. I don't even do what you do, I just say "Well, you couldn't be bothered to spell my name right. Don't contact me again."
But yeah, all that stuff just makes for an annoying time when they're blowing up your email with junk jobs, low pay, and temporary positions in California. Recruiters don't read any of the information you give them, it's all keyword matches.
checkboxing for certain.
