I don't know why so many comments are about insurance. And even some about the factory warranty. Your question was very simple and understandable. Those after market warranties are a huge rip off! The people selling them make it sound great but they almost never actually cover anything that you need. The factory warranty will be there for any defects that may be in your car. Once you get past the factory warranty's time frame you pretty much know that the car was built correctly and will not fall apart. If you do not abuse your car, crazy driving, drifting, trying to get the car airborne like the Dukes of Hazzard, silly crap like that, and you keep up on all the regular maintenance, your car should be fine! You would not need an extended warranty. Any money that you paid in for the warranty would be wasted. Better to save that money and use it to keep the maintenance up.
