I'm pushing half a century soon and i'd like to do some more international travel. i used to rent a car and sleep in the back when i traveled previously, but that can make for some uncomfortable evenings. so for the bucks and does on here who don't want to spend $300 a night on a fine star hotel, let alone even 100, how do hostels work for middle-aged people? is it even a thing?

I snore, so I wouldn't do that. But aside from that it is kind of creepy. I think everyone will assume you have the money to stay someplace better but are staying there to room with young broke vulnerable youth.

Damn I forgot I snore really bad. And I fart all night. I have no desire to mess with a 20 something. I dated a girl with a 20-year age gap a couple years ago and I didn't really think it worked at all. I'm looking to retire and she hasn't started life yet, so that made it really stressful at times.
