Why a SUV? Having had one I'd never buy another. They're kinda okay for most things but not good at any one thing. I was constantly having to make compromises to accommodate the vehicle. And unless you're actually going offroad 4WD is just a gimmick that's very expensive to fix it if goes wrong (mine did). I've got a truck with a full rear seat now and I'm much happier, and the gas mileage is about the same.
Got a Highlander (2022 version) recently and I have to agree here. It's too small for what we bought it for, because while it fits the baby seat for our newborn it's also super fuckin cramped for me or even undriveable if the seat is behind the driver's side. So we're either looking at getting an even bigger SUV or a truck, and I'm leaning towards a truck myself.
