Drive-in movies were one of the highlights of any weekend when I was a teen. Didn't really matter what movie was playing, as watching it was the last thing on the list of things to do while there. Hanging that speaker on the window was an afterthought rather than requirement.

Ah, the drive-in. How well I remember my older sister hanging that enormous metal speaker box on her window, then starting to drive away with it still attached. I remember how the windshield would fog up, requring a restart of the car's engine to clear it, and how the fog would roll in waves across the drive-in, obscuring the screen from view, and how the heavens would open and let down a torrent of rain just as we were going to the concession stand. Not to be forgotten are the assholes in other cars who left their lights on, blew their horns, or acted like niggers. I remember watching 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea from the back seat of the family car, and just as the giant squid came on, the fog rolled in so thick that I could not see the squid. I may be one of the few people in the world who has watched 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea from start to finish without ever seeing the giant squid. How I miss the drive-in. Such memories.

There is only one drive close to me, and I always make sure to pay and buy a bunch of merch/food, because it really is an amazing business and I want to to stick around and thrive.

If you are in PA, I highly recommend you check it out. Best movie festivals I have ever been to.

No, I'm white.

Where I lived, only whites had cars. I think there were maybe a dozen blacks , one sandnigger, and maybe 20 Asians at my 2000 student high school.

We did it twice. The second time they had changed the pricing to be per car. So we felt a little foolish with our Nissan Stanza's truck stuffed with 17 year olds.

So many times for my parents. Then we got too big and it became snacks and whatnot. Then you become a teenager and you're all trying to get weed and booze in. Then you hit 20s and you're like wow this isn't 1960, time to do modern things.

Haven't been in almost a decade but would love to have a family and take them there. It is more fun quality family time than at home.

I worked as a protectionist in the mid 80s, including at 3 drive-ins. Best I ever saw was 20 people in a Buick. Back seat and trunk were Stuffed!

I had a van, where we would have a chick be my girlfriend riding shotgun (if I didn't have one), and the ticket guy would not bother to look in the back assuming I was there to fuck the girl. I'd sneak in 8-15 people easily.

I haven't been to a drive-in probably since I've been 12 years old.

Every day. Won't stop.

If I was alive in the 80s maybe. I've never even been to a drive in movie, I thought that was a thing from retro movies.
