i traced my family on my dad's side, being frankish, to the battle of hastings.later fought with the black prince and have participated in just about every notable war since. on my mothers side, german and some irish.

its an interesting journey that everyone should take.

mine was one of the barons who fought for duke william. he survived was awarded land after the victory.
