I know a decent amount. Took classes in high school. Picked up pimsleur discs, have some bilingual poetry - more in the European vein like Jorge Luis Borges... Seems they're pushing more ways different than that, besides immersion, but suppose I have a basis in fundamentals. Would be cool to be fluent, or read don quixote, or party with the cartel. Suggestions? May start with method of 1000 most popular Spanish words

Better off learning Russian the way things are going.

Classes are the way to go, forget Duolingo and other online crap, it's a language, you will learn it best by speaking to your classmates.
