Are you religious? Why do you trust your god? People who trust the government (not just boomers, all of them.) really think the same way as religious people. They see faith in the government as a virtue with it's own intrinsic value, whether or not it's rewarded, just like a Christian might see faith in God.
What is faith if not unearned trust? In other words, they think trusting the government makes them good people.
