If they tell their kids that they can wake up one day and magically become whatever they want. - That's lazy parenting.

If a kid devotes themselves, and puts in the effort, they can become nearly anything.

And the best thing to do as a parent is to tell their kids that it is their fault. That they didn't work hard enough. That they didn't put in enough effort.

The problem isn't telling kids that they can be whatever they want. It's telling kids that that they can be whatever they want without telling them that they need to put in the work.
