You weren't given mind-altering chemicals, that change your seratonin-levels, when you acted up.

Kids were free roam. 5 year-olds walked to school and back.

Chicken pox were absolutely miserable. The definition of torture. Imagine crying yourself to sleep.

Parents were young and they brought their babies with them to parties.

Cartoons were the best

Did you get some sort of antihistamine medicine? You must have been at an older age. I itched so bad and all over it was the only thing I could think about. Completely decombobulating. Sweating and rolling on the ground. Mom holding me while I was screaming in terror at the incessant itching. The pox, themselves, if I ripped one off sent sharp pain down entire nervous system and dropped me to the floor like I was hit by lightning. The crater where the pox used to be would bleed for a long time. Sorry to be graphic but it was really like a horror film. Totally paralysing and the most cringe 80s thing I can think of.
