Country began changijg from its own genre, to include... A sub genre of rap, about 15 years ago.

But instead of the club, the location rapped about is the dirt road, the fishing hole etc. Traditional country locations.

And instead of rapping about Crystal, the drink is PBR, or whiskey.

And instead of general thug activities, it's discussed how a real man hunts/fishes /works .

And the autotune. Jesus tap dancing Christ. The autotune..

Country used to be dangerously based. It was quintessential American culture, and (gasp \s) it could inspire people and make them proud of themselves. So (((they))) had to ruin it. Though it may be that it just started to reflect the state of society as a whole.

Pop music sucks, it doesn't matter what genre it pretends to be.

My guess would be when city-slickers from New York or California started moving to Texas and Tennessee.

Also Johnny Cash is the best.

In my experience interacting with people from around America, it seems like "country boys" tend to be the most willing to accept trash women. They are natural cucks and all of their macho posturing is just to cover up their pain. I suppose the scarcity of women in rural areas plays a part, but if I were in that situation I would just buy a body pillow and play more video games.

Eli Young was the change. Jason Aldean didn't help. Basically when the target audience became women.

Professional songwriters write the majority of C&W music now. They figured out the formula for what makes a hit and they're beating that drum like there's no tomorrow. No doubt there are still some singer-songwriters out there that are getting air time but they are the exception.

I used to drive through a couple so-called cowboy states several times a year and to help pass the time I flip through the radio stations. There were three -- I think it was -- templates for songs and within those categories I literally could not tell the songs apart.

The radio stations themselves were either C&W or Talk Radio or Jesus or NPR... it was pretty fucking bleak.

Turn of the millennia. As much as I like gart brooks he started it all in the 90s and it practically peaked then. Dirt road, tight jeans, young pretty girl, booze, jacked up truck, night time, moon, bon fire, auto tune
