Because in WWII, basically alllll the Russian men died. Way more than other societies'. So women needed to work, in all kinds of jobs, but if these women wanted any male attention, they also needed to be ready for a photoshoot basically every day. This is also why eastern European men take beautiful women for granted and at times treat them somewhat niggerishly.
