A lot of people have their life insurance through the company that they work for. The insurance that you get at work is usually one year term insurance. Suicide is not covered under those one year terms. The usual two year exclusion would only apply if you buy your own life insurance plan.

It's good that you have your own. And yeah, if you punch a time clock and the company provides life insurance it is on a one year term.
