I was able to save up $6,000 my senior year of high school working at McDonald's. I still have living expenses such as mobile, insurance, gas, and school related fun. I worked part time for just 6 months.

He supposedly had a job off and on and worked at a fast food place.

Made 13K, I believe. After taxes, I probably had $3K of play money.

It's possible. My brother and I saved money by carpooling to work (he worked near where I did).
