I have 70 pound dog, keep the nails short, train them to be gentle on the furniture, and you will be fine. Leather is easier to clean, and if it is well made, the patina will cause it to get better with time, imho. “I'm suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog when it doesn't like a person.” ― Bill Murray
