No. I have two 60+ pound dogs and 3 leather sofas and they are welcome on any of them. You will want to keep their nails clipped and smooth (filed), however. Leather, over time, develops a nice patina so even if they scratch it, I don't really mind the marks it may leave. Keeping it well conditioned will help. My cat, on the other hand.....
