I think the core aspects of things like burning man or desert parties like you mention is ultimately tied to timeless activities whether it be sitting around a fire in nature, making music, art, and attempting to find community. But yeah I agree, once the fleeting sources of joy come in, like drugs and sex, that’s when the flaky people show up, puts a lifespan on whatever event it is. But really, and that was my big take away, is that you don’t need all of the other nonsense, just stick to the timeless aspects of life and you find yourself with everything you need.
