Start with answering a few science-based, statistical questions, first :

  1. How many collapsed at the previous Boston Marathons?

  2. How many participated in each?

  3. What is the collapse rate, by year, per 100K, for each?

  4. What is the average collapse rate for marathons, per 100K?

  5. Does the Boston Marathon have collapse rates different from the results in number 4? If yes, then an analysis of 2022 is not possible until we figure out the reason for the variation, here. If the reason is known, does it affect the analysis we are doing for the 2022 Boston Marathon collapse rate? If yes, then an analysis of the 2022 Boston Marathon cannot be scientifically done until the impact (confounding variables) is resolved.

Once you have those answers, then you can start analyzing the Boston Marathon. If you don't have those answers, anything you conclude about the collapse rates at the 2022 Boston Marathon is absolute bullshit.

You guys harp on the MSM and government pushing bullshit science. That's great - exactly the type of thinking everyone should be using (calling out bullshit science). Just be sure and apply the same type of scientific and statistical rigor to your own science.
