Surely with fertilizer prices, oil prices and everything else going through the roof, along with Russian/ukranian food production export not happening for the forseeable, prices will go through the roof.

For the first time in my life I think I'm going to start stocking up on canned food, to try and survive whatever the hell is round the corner.

We're not all property owners where this is feasible.

Those that survive a collapse will be part of a group. Bringing skills to a group is your only chance. This is why the government is declaring groups of white people "terrorists". They want you isolated. Working to create a survival group is just as important as stocking up on beans and rice. Having plans for what to do in a "natural disaster" will help all of the group survive.

bingo, all the people who tout "hurr durr, im all prepped up and ready to survive in my house in the middle of a city" have not thought through the simple fact that it has always taken a community to survive, no one can do it all by themselves save for a select few who have real survival skills and have been living off grid for a while now and they dont go around posting shit on the internet for imaginary points

There's tons of space to prep in an apartment. I know, I did it. Under beds, shelves in closets, under sinks (waterproof against leaks), under couches and easy chairs, etc. Stop thinking 5 gallon buckets and start thinking about the sorts of containers you see at The Container Store.

You need to own property to buy extra canned goods?

Get a small metal rack, fill it with rice and beans that you portioned in mylar bags.

Its not a bad idea to freeze the rice and beans first. A few days in the freezer will kill pests.

Bags or food safe 5 gallon buckets with an O2 absorber for bulk, half gallon mason jars for smaller amounts.
