Surely with fertilizer prices, oil prices and everything else going through the roof, along with Russian/ukranian food production export not happening for the forseeable, prices will go through the roof.

For the first time in my life I think I'm going to start stocking up on canned food, to try and survive whatever the hell is round the corner.

Sorry to inform you, but you're about 18 months behind the curve. This is going to last years. 5 ot more if this shit continues.

>18 months behind the curve.

Are we seeing food chain issues in the U.S. yet?

I know some grocery chains have had empty shelves for the last 2 month on the East coast. Even Walmsrt is struggling with its supply chains now.

Yes, I am a truck driver by trade at the moment. I can tell you first hand we are going to be having a shortage of everything. Diesel is about to sky rocket, which means prices are going to skyrocket, and then we have 8 dollar a gallon price and NO ONE can pay that up front. my company has 11k trucks and goes through on average 210 gallons of diesel per truck every 24 hours, you think if the price doubles almost over night they will be able to put fuel in their vehicles? There are so many fucking working and moving parts to the supply chain but the one thing you cant fuck with is the Trucks. All those trucks need FUEL to run. NO fuel no supplies, no food and BAM! We all fucked.

Thank god in Pittsburgh I can buy local and have the co-op, the farmers market, and even a fucking farm in the middle of the city up Atlantic I think up near the cemetery.

Supply is only half the problem. Demand the other half (i.e. hoarders). In Commifornia, hoarders are the biggest problem.

I took a short cut. I just stocked up on ammo.

BTW thanks for stock pilling that for me. ;)

Planning on stealing from preppers is a quick way to get your head blown off and fed to their pets.

[–] 1 pt

What? Stalin did this and it worked. Preppers are hoarders who belong in reeducation/work camps.

[–] 1 pt

Preppers are not hoarders. Hoarders are those that were too stoopid to prep before, so now they have to raid the supermarkets last minute, in panic buying sprees, just as procrastinators always do.

And commies are just walking fertilizer.

I once saw a sign on a gate in a very rural area...

" Private Property

I own firearms and a backhoe. "

It's pretty short sighted to think those who stocked up on food haven't also stocked up on ammunition.

An unexpected benefit of living in a liberal city. Lots of gun-free houses.

[–] 2 pts

Liberal city means you also have to deal with the hoard, godspeed to you.

In a shut down scenario anyone planning to individually steal food from others will be dead in less than 30 days.

Not meaning to fight with you, brother. Just telling you the truth. Your theft might work a few times. But not for more than 30 days.

Only needs to work once actually...

Ahh, I see.

We’re talking about the Jewish approach to accumulating? :)

This is the winning post with most truth.

I have food, I also have guns that I use frequently on my range. Try me.

I have sex with your mother.

[–] 0 pt

Good. Make sure you leave a map to the rest of that ammo on your body.

Eating vaccinated neighbors will now give you aids.

Another perfectly good plan gone to hell.

Actually I'm pretty sure BSE and Prion diseases are the only nasties immune to a slow cooker.

I'm just committing to being a breatharian. Food is for lower life forms.

ITT people who have never been through a SHTF event like they predict is coming are also boasting about how they will absolutely succeed in that same event. Good luck with that.

[–] 1 pt

just do it tomorrow

He's probably got more time than that... why are you rushing him?

[–] 1 pt

Good idea. You better hurry! I started about a month before the "plandemic". Buy a lot in bulk. Even the "bargin barn" places have gone way up on prices.

Tip: Urine is a great fertilizer.

One part water, one part piss, water your plants with it, and you'll be good.

We're not all property owners where this is feasible.

Those that survive a collapse will be part of a group. Bringing skills to a group is your only chance. This is why the government is declaring groups of white people "terrorists". They want you isolated. Working to create a survival group is just as important as stocking up on beans and rice. Having plans for what to do in a "natural disaster" will help all of the group survive.

bingo, all the people who tout "hurr durr, im all prepped up and ready to survive in my house in the middle of a city" have not thought through the simple fact that it has always taken a community to survive, no one can do it all by themselves save for a select few who have real survival skills and have been living off grid for a while now and they dont go around posting shit on the internet for imaginary points

There's tons of space to prep in an apartment. I know, I did it. Under beds, shelves in closets, under sinks (waterproof against leaks), under couches and easy chairs, etc. Stop thinking 5 gallon buckets and start thinking about the sorts of containers you see at The Container Store.

[–] 0 pt

You need to own property to buy extra canned goods?

[–] 0 pt

Get a small metal rack, fill it with rice and beans that you portioned in mylar bags.

[–] 3 pts

Its not a bad idea to freeze the rice and beans first. A few days in the freezer will kill pests.

[–] 1 pt

Bags or food safe 5 gallon buckets with an O2 absorber for bulk, half gallon mason jars for smaller amounts.
