The main thing during this, assuming you have taken the proper steps in preparing for such an event, is being able to protect what you have accumulated. I'm pretty sure we have never had to deal with masses of hunger & desparation.

Invest in yourself through skills & experience...they're intangible, easy to protect, enable to you be flexible with changing times, and in many ways just as valuable as other assets.
