Same. I bought it to commute for work. I love not putting gas in it.

In 3 years, i've saved 11k miles on my gas vehicles, the associated fuel, and maintenance costs.

After buying that crap Fiat. Ive paid for 1 set of tires... 450... so i fuigure if it lasts me a couple more years. it has paid for itself in savings on my gas cars.

Damn i love not adding tons of miles to my TT anymore. The 550, needs a starter, its been in the garage for months because ive no motivation to go work on it.

Honest question - what is your monthly electric bill? Mine is outrageous already, and I don't feel like I am wasteful or careless.

the car didnt add much. It added maybe 20 bucks in heavy use months. I charge it during off peak hours. I didnt add a special circuit for it. I swap it with the dryer. It isnt a tesla, its got a small battery, it takes about 5 hours to charge. I paid about 200 bucks for the charger that swaps out with the dryer.

But where we live 500 is fairly normal in summer months and 150 in winter. We are not very frugal with electric. 2 fridges, freezer, PCs never turn off... We used to do the whole make sure everything is off all the time business. Its AC that murders us. It wasnt making a huge impact on the dollar line as much as it was making an impact on our lives.

Lets also add the half hour of my day it bought me 5 days a week. It bought me HOV access. Which cut my trip time by 15 minutes each way. Until we started working at home... that was nearly a year after buying it.
