There are three tiers of parks.

Disney - Disney is alone here.

Disney TryHards - Universal is alone here.

Everything else - literally every other park in the US.

Disney is alone because it's literally the only park you can go to wherein you'll experience no trash people, no immigrants, no blacks, no drunks and no crap. The rides are mostly tame but you are going for the overall experience - clean, peaceful, safe, fun. Alcohol is limited, entry prices are extremely high, but they are zero tolerance. You fuck up you are banned. You'll see some immigrants and blacks there but keep in mind that they literally saved up like 5-10 years of income to make this trip happen for their family, so they aren't about to fuck it up. No one steals anything. Everything is organized and efficient.

Universal tries to be like Disney but with more thrilling rides, more alcohol and a bit more affordable prices. The prices are still high where it generally keeps out the immigrants and blacks, but the alcohol kills it. You get a lot of trash people who just are not great to be around. You'd never see a guy grab his girl's ass in Disney World. Kiddie rides are done very poorly as the park caters to teens and adults.

Everything else is just trash and all the same crap. Super thrilling rides with no theming at all. Big open spaces. Carnival games to take your money. Hershey, Dorney, Six Flags, King's Dominion, etc. The price is affordable and there's plenty of alcohol. Far too many blacks and trash whites. Whereas you can leave your camera on a table in Disney and no one will touch it all day, at these parks it'll be stolen quite quick. These parks do kids rides, and they do it better than Universal, definitely more effort since they need to cater to everyone at their price point.

Now, beyond the park, all of these companies hire cheap labor. All the internationals who work at Disney and "love" their experience, have a name tag with their country... they are all H2B workers getting paid dog shit. All the parks do it. Disney is just most egregious since they are so big and need so many. They also use a ton of Indian H1B labor for coding and development for software related to the park. Disney is getting worse and worse with quality. Ticket price keeps going up and what you get goes down. As a resort guest you previously got included access to fast pass, extra hours, airport shuttle service, electric bands with your ticket on it, among many other benefits. Most of those are gone and have become paid services. My parents told me that the quality of the resort bath towels (in 1989 when we went) were crazy better than what you get now. Food quality has gone way down at all the restaurants. They also have this stupid meal plan which benefits Disney greatly.

Disney and Universal are going cheap with new rides. Almost half of the rides at universal are 3D or 4D. Everything new that Disney builds is 3/4D. Why? Cheaper and safer with less maintenance. You don't need to oil a 3D video screen. At the same time they make you pay big time for non-ride experiences. Want that Harry Potter wand? $$$. Want to build a lightsaber? $$$.

One thing that keeps Disney afloat are the fanboys. You literally have 30-40-50 yo adults who live like children and will visit Disney every year and ride the rides every time and spend big on crap they don't need (I have a cousin who falls into this category, except she goes to all amusement parks, not just Disney). Whereas dressing up like a princess at King's Dominion will get you weird looks, at Disney, it's commonplace and no one gives it a second thought.

I get the allure with these parks. You want to escape, get some thrill. What's great about Disney World is that you visit the perfect society that you wish existed. Clean, in house services (fire, security), free transport services, golf, etc. It is just a nice getaway knowing you are going somewhere supersafe. And it's great, don't get me wrong. Just be aware that to create that experience a lot of shit goes into it that you don't see or hear.
