So during the cold war the name of the game was to get the nukes as close to their target as possible so you could reach that target quicker than they could reach yours.

You would want to hide its location (silo) because the most common target would be other nuclear launch sites and if you are close to them, they are equally close to you.

But there is no where more close than within the country itself. It would be absurd to think that governments at that time put no effort into concealment and camouflage.

So what do you think. Do you think there are Russian nukes in this country buried under ground, or nukes in Russia?

I imagine an awful lot of effort goes into tracking the manufacture and transportation of nukes. Russia had some positioned in Cuba at one point, but they were made to move them away. The U.S. might have some level of control over nukes in Israel, but not officially.

I don't think there are full sized nukes hidden in or near America. There could be some sleeper cells with some dirty bombs or other such weapons though.
