Watch Mark Dice's videos where he interviews random people in the street, and you'll get your answer on who believes them.

I think it because people get addicted to being brow-beaten or put down like some kind of weird pavlovian conditioning. They become addicted to whatever crazy gossip the msm attempts to peddle so they can spout it to there friends and pretend like they are little journalists with the big scoop.

They weren't "wrong". They weren't "mistaken". They lied. Willfully. Knowingly. Lied. There is a difference.

Thing is a lot of people have a hard time admitting that they could be wrong and have been manipulated, after all we all believe we are smarter than the next. Their pride/vanity/feelings are more important to them than the facts of a situation. This is why retractions mean nothing, once the narrative has been consumed it is belief oft times even when one is shown direct evidence it wont be believed.

Without the ability to admit one can be wrong one cannot reason.
