Texas is big and they don't care for Californians much outside of Houston, Austin, Dallas
20 years ago I would say Houston or Corpus Christi because you get beautiful Gulf beaches and I assume since you're in Cali you like the beach
Montana, Idaho, The Dakotas would be a better choice but it is a dramatically different lifestyle and you have to be prepared for that
If you own your home you will have plenty of options because it's a seller's market. Everywhere is cheaper that California
Good for you for thinking of your kids.
Actually I really don't like beaches. That said, I've been to the beach off Galveston and it is nice. A bit hot.
Not worried about how they don't care for Californians. I'm a good conservative and will fit right in.
I would prefer Montana, Idaho or the Dakotas, but alas they don't have the population centers for the services we need. In another 8 years or so that will work well, but we need to go now.
Kids are everything.
Houston has nice beaches huh? When? In the1800’s
Houston has access to nice beaches as California does. A short drive away.
The Galveston ones?? The mud beach? Unless you’re referring to another beach?
It's a common misconception that everywhere is more affordable than California, but a lot of places aren't. You have to compare housing prices to pay. A $850,000 house in California with a $100,000 job is more affordable than a $350,000 house somewhere where you're going to make $40,000.
