Assuming we start a long march through the institutions today, anyone on our side becoming a lawyer, or a teacher, or a doctor, or working in the media are all needed. And not just present in those areas, we need to aim for top of field and to wield real influence. We have to do this as individuals regardless of how we end up using these kind of positions.
We lost influence in those areas because we were blind to what was attacking us. I believe we can gain it back being aware of what we're up against, but the first step is dedicating yourself to rise to the top in one of those fields.
It worked on us because we are complacent and naïve, and are predisposed more to individuality rather than in-group bias. What they did isn't going to work on them like it worked on us, because they know what they did.
You're not wrong, but the industries I mention are still battlefields we HAVE to participate in. Every one of us needs to strive for prominence.
Lawyering is a good skill to pick up if you have time, enough money, and a desire to fight the power. You can add that skill onto whatever you already know and make use of it. You don't have to spend your whole career as a lawyer to make a difference.
