Will it ever need to be transported? Go with a backhoe if you can find one. Around 20k you're looking at 20+ year old unit. Probably won't have the auxiliary hydraulic lines to run an auger but you may get lucky. Skid loaders have a lot of attachment options but can't dig like a backhoe or excavator can. I picked up a 2010 john deere 35D long arm excavator for 10k with track problems. I can fix it myself as it doesn't have all the electronics on it like the new ones. I've used it for production work still broken but the track pops off at least twice a day, huge pain the dick.
