Interesting in that you said a lot and also very little at the same time. "Your mind is what makes you fat" is basically a throwaway statement also. And were you actually claiming that people get fat from sodium?
Sugar is not even bad in itself, its abundant in nature and humans are designed and "evolved" to eat it. This is why it literally tastes good.

Yes, I am claiming people get fat from sodium. That's why I specifically stated eating salts does not create fat. Because it creates fat.
I didn't say sugar is bad. I implied it is addictive and consuming it to the point it makes you fat is bad, explained why some artificial sweeteners can contribute to both issues, and that your weight is ultimately a consequence of how you decide to eat and exercise.
"Things that taste good are good to eat", like antifreeze.
