That is a really great point. I ran into the following idea the other week:
In the past, our childrens attention would be under control of parents and maybe their friends to a some extent when they are in their formative years.
Today, we have allowed a WORLD FULL OF STRANGERS, MOST OF THEM BEING THE ENEMIES OF OUR PEOPLE direct access to our kids.
What you describe is precisely what is happening to our kids over th internet in all sorts of way.
I have recently started to really think about whether or not we in the west are going to have to very quickly switch to something like our version of islam with strict dictates, because this situation is absolutely untenable over the long term.
I don't have any serious thoughts on the subject just yet, but, we really need to start paying attention to these feedback loops and the teams of professionals studying how to optimize them against us.
