I don't have the money to get a Librem 5 or similar phone. I want the most security I can in the meantime until I can get one. I also want the Google Playstore so I can get a few Android apps I use. Is their any OS I can use that's secure, gives me access to the Google Playstore and run Android apps?

Sounds like you want Lineage OS. You can decide how much, or how little, Google shit you want on your device. If you want access to the play store, with out using google junk, you can always try .

Although your device isn't officially supported, you might be able to find an unofficial ROM.

This. Go for lineage or one of the MANY similar variants like old but still working cyanogenmod. Then you can download very minimalist gapps with only stuff you want in there. Add in some custom .hosts / block lists and you have a pretty damn secure phone.

Sounds like you're looking for an android model you can root and remove the bloatware on like facebook etc.

Well I'm looking to root mine and remove Android OS. I don't like using Google's stuff but I'd like to use their apps

Android rooted is basically just a proprietary version of linux that you can shut most of the stuff off on. I've never specifically looked into flashing an android device w/ linux but recall it's been done w/ a few tablets.

I know my Nokia 8 is very barebones. Like it has no bloatware from the manufacturer. When I bought it it had bloatware on it from the vender, not Nokia themselves. I took it to a local computer tech for $25 and he got all the stuff off of it
