Wife has seen much of the same data and historical patterns that I have, and she is largely on the same page as me. Kids are too young to understand this stuff.
I've got a sister that sees that there are problems with news media, entertainment media, finance, education industry, social media censorship, political funding, etc., but she can't make the connection. She's conservative by the standards of most of our extended family, but is still very much in the mindset that there are ambiguous "elites" attacking us, and that all races/ethnicities/religions could be happy neighbors without them. We can discuss some of reality, but there are limits beyond which she won't have conversation.
Most of my living extended family don't have conversations of any import. They just open their mouths and whatever the TV says comes out. I barely talk to them anymore. I think they're like most people - they're not actively trying to be enemies, but they instinctively feel safer on the side of whatever forces are in power, and they just don't want to think about it. If the tides ever turned in the culture war and our view gained popularity, they'd probably continue to be sheep and follow us rather than fight us.
