I thought to ask because I've been watching stuff from the 50s and 60s and it really jumps out at you how much the boy's cut is placed on women even then. Overwhelmingly so. I too expect Jews did this but can't prove it. I suspect it was something started in late 1800s or early 1900's by Jewish fashion designers. Was hoping someone would know more. So far, it looks like no one really knows. The flapper girls were their day's thots.
