We're overwhelmed with corruption, but there's no real way to act. Those leaders who start to stand up are taken out, so we have to suffer the corruption. You can test this... just start an organization to address some critical aspect of the systemic corruption and watch how many "glowies" appear in your group (they'll show up and espouse extreme shit or try to trip up your group). Even if people care, the best they can do is to retreat and let the entire system fail and then hope an outside culture or nation does not do mop-up operations.
