The reality is we are all evolved hominids. Neanderthal, CroMagnon and a few others adapted to different climates over 100s of thousands of years. These thousands of years of adaptation is what's called Evolutionary Drift. This is why sometimes 2 separate species can produce a child together.
It is a lie that 2 species can not procreate. They can proceeate and it creates a hybrid which can also procreate. What makes a species separate is Evolutionary Drift which takes place over thousands of years of adaptation until the species has diverged.
